Everyday Meditation – Stress Relief

Everyday meditation. Everyday meditation is not only participating in special group classes or visiting special meditation centers. Meditation is about soul and body harmony, peace and calmness. It is about beating and defeating stress. That is why you can practice meditation easily on your own without the obligatory need to be in a group. You can achieve your goals sitting by your own in the park for example such as being in a group class. It is about your own choice and preference.  There is no right or wrong way of meditation, so don’t be afraid to make mistakes. This will cause you additional stress and part of the meditation purpose is exactly to help you get rid of the stress.  You can make meditation as formal or informal as you like. It depends on how it suits you r lifestyle and situation. Some people manage to involve meditation into their daily routine. They may start and end each day with meditation. Half an hour or an hour – the needed time is different for everybody. Sometimes even few minutes are enough if the meditation is good/proper.  Here are some ways you can practice meditation on your own, whenever you chose:
  • Breathe deeply

    Breathe deeply
This technique is good for the beginners, because breathing is a natural function. You should focus all your attention on your breathing, concentrate on feeling and listening as you inhale and exhale through your nostrils. Try to breathe slowly and deeply, this is the best option. If you get distracted, just slowly return your focus to your breathing.
  • Repeat a mantra  You can choose your own mantra. It can be religious or secular. Whatever you like. Just choose one which makes you feel calm and secure.
  • Take a meditation walk

    Take a meditation walk
Try combining a walk with meditation. This is a very healthy way to relax indeed. One of its great benefits is that you can practice and use this technique practically anywhere you are walking. Choose tranquil forest, quiet park or a city sidewalk. The choice is all yours. When you practice you should try to slow down the pace of walking as much as possible. Focus on every move you make, follow the moving of your arms and feet and feel it. Do not think where you are going, just follow the rhythm of your walk. Concentrate on the movement itself.
  • Scan your body  Focus your attention on different parts of your body and try to “scan” them. Become aware of various sensations of your body. Combine this scanning with breathing exercises and imagine heat or relaxation into and out of different parts of your body.
  • Read and Reflect  Reading is a perfect opportunity to relax. Many people share that they feel very calm and relaxed while reading a book, no matter what kind of book is it. It depends on the personal preferences. You can also listen to the music you like, just pay attention to what makes you feel great and forget about stress. This is a good choice for everyday meditation.
  • Focus your love

    Focus your love
Just focus your attention on a sacred object or being. Go on weaving feelings of love and gratitude, also compassion into your thoughts. If this will help you you can close your eyes and use your imagination to help you creating situation where you share a moment with your loved ones.
Everyday meditation is a way of living. It is your everyday fight with stress and negative energy. You can use your meditating moments as a shelter where you can feel safe. Sort of a shield which will protect you from all the stress and negativity you experience every day.
